  We found Joao and his Tours through tue Internet anti booked him for a full day Trip through Sao Vicente for our family of 5 Adults. We had high expectations... read more because of the good Reviews but what we got was even more amazing than we expected.
It was very very easy to communivatw with Joao via E-Mail and when we finally met Joao was very lovely and welcoming from the very beginning.
He showed us around Sao Vicente in a way we ever expected... amazing off road parts that were really adventurous sometimes but so much fun. We have to stay he is an amazing driver and thank to that he showed us parts you nornally don't get to see.
Plus all the Information he gave us... He had great stories to all questions we had and toll us so much about Sao Vicente in a really interesting was, there was not one boring second on the whole Trip.
WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND JOAO AND HIS TOURS and we will definitely book again with him when we come Back.

Next day,we went to Santo Antaon Island by ferry. Our mighty car brought us to the incredible scenic road above the cloud.We took 2 hours trekking on the stone paved mountain road,starting from the 1,200m high cliff to down to the valley under the cloud.It was an amazing experience.
Our guide,Joan was so helpful and informative.
We highly recommend to take this adventure tour in Cabo Verde.
You will find so many hidden treasures there.

  We took an all day tour from Mindelo in connection with a cruise. You will see some beautiful country, but this is a somewhat primitive tour, and we were... read more not prepared for that. First you will tour the downtown area, which is quite depressing. Next you will visit the 1st of 2 beaches, but we wore shorts and the wind whipped the sand so hard, it stung our legs (and we were there in the calm wind season they said!). You will also be warned that there is only 1 restroom stop and it is very early in the tour. Unfortunately, most people did not really believe that, but it is absolutely true. At the 2nd beach stop, the first order of business for everyone was to find a secluded spot, which, given the number of people on the tour, was impossible. Lots of public bathroom use to be seen.You will visit several great vistas, but by mid-afternoon most people had had enough. If this guide offers a half day trip, that might be a better choice.

  We took 2days trip to the Island of Sant Antaon with Joan,a tour operator of Cabo Verde Safari.
After we took one hour ferry ride from Mindelo, St. Vicente to... read more Sant Antaon, we climbed up to 1,500m high by car,and walked at some part,along a paved old road looking down the bleath taking valley. The scenery was so wild and incredible.
After lunch at the sea side restaurant, the more amazing place was awaiting for us.
I strongly recommend this tour to whom wants to go far out and to save the time.Joan is a reliable, flexible and a generous tour guide,speaking English, French and Portuguese.

Through our travel agency we managed... read more to have João Coelho as our tour guide even if his Cabo Verde Safari is currently closed during reconstruction of the company. João is a very good guide - and he and his driver took us in an off road car to places near the south coast, that most visitors to the island do not even know exist. Vast and beautiful lava fields, spectacular mountains and long empty beaches. Do not miss this tour if you are ever on São Vicente. According to João the Cabo Verde Safari website should reappear by May this year - and when it does, he is expecting to include similar round trips on the island of Santiago in his selection of tours. Going to these off road places was just great, definitely our best experience during our visit to Cabo Verde.

Cape... read more Verde is pratically untouched my tourism which makes it all the more attractive. The lands are rugged and beautifully breath-taking. My stay at the hotels and resorts were great. I was provided with amazing customer service. The sun is always shining and the temperature is perfect. So, if you are looking for an escape from all the hyped up touristy things and just want to get away from it all and relax, Cape Verde islands are the perfect destination.

I really recommend the tour for those who want to have a different and more local view of the Island. Joao (the guide) is great and makes the difference. He knows the places and the people. We wanted to do some snorkeling and he basically adapted the tour to do a 1 hour swimming in a nice beach. He even came with us in the water. Then we had a nice lunch and finish the day by going all round the island. Very nice and important to assure the presence of Joao.
